How to safely auto-start an executable when a Windows Service starts?

I have a Windows service (written in C#) that is called on startup. This service is in a way the hub of a system that also consists of a command-line application and a computer game running as a separate Windows executable.
In the business logic of the service, I get information from both the application and the game, and do some processing and store it in a database.
In addition to the main service, I have created a “system tray” window that consists of buttons and other controls (the game provides this functionality).
The problem is that the main service also has a “started” event handler that updates the state of the system tray window, and in order for the window to be properly updated, the main service must be run as the “current process” and not the currently running one.
This is the standard Windows Service behavior:
When the service runs, it creates a windowless window at the screen’s current working area. In the service’s main function, it switches to this window, and then becomes the “current process” when it exits (which is at the end of the main function).
The problem is that this window cannot be accessed by anything else, as it’s not the “current process” anymore, and the OS will give you an error if you try to access it. To solve this, I have created a separate “main window” exe that creates the main window that I need to let everything else in the system see.
The problem with this is that I must manually start the “main window” whenever I want to start the service, which is annoying, and I want it to happen automatically as the main service starts. I tried to use the windows Service Manager to automatically start the process as soon as the service is started (by supplying a command
